Enogastronomic Routes

Wine and oil The area of Barberino Val d'Elsa (and, to a slightly lesser extent, Tavarnelle) plays host to myriad farms and farm holiday complexes that sell their own wines and olive oil. Certain farms also offer the possibility to go on guided tours of their cellars and learn about the process of making Tuscan wines.

Cheeses Alongside its famous wines and oils, Tuscany also has numerous cheese-making factories that specialize in the production of high-quality cheeses. Pecorino is undoubtedly one of the most widely produced cheeses in the region. Mr. Trapanotto is a shepherd from Barberino who would be delighted to welcome guests to his cheese-making factory and show them how one of the region’s most popular cheese is produced.
